Bio

My background includes two advanced degrees and study with a Bachelors Degree in Education for Teacher Certification. I have served as a Teacher and/or Tutor for the past 20+ years for pre-k to college age students. My core is in teaching English, Language, Arts, Reading Comprehension, and Writing. I began my teaching profession as a Fine Arts Teacher as I was certified for this in the major subject area. The Fine Arts program was cut by the school board shortly after I started and most of my years were spent as a homeroom teacher for elementary and middle school grades. I then became a Teacher for children entertainers on location where I earned the media nick-name of teacher to the stars. I had a classroom of 35 students of varied ages and grades up to 12th grade where half of my students did not speak English and several had learning challenges such as ADD, ADHD, Aspergers, and Autism. I have garnered much success with my students as I build a strong rapport and I present lessons utilizing diverse mediums to address the varied learning styles of each student providing an interesting, stimulating, and fun mode of learning which speaks to motivation. I also own and operate a creative after-school S.T.E.M/S.T.E.A,M (science, technology, engineering, art, math) Enrichment Center. In addition to this profession I have also served as a professional freelance contract writer/editor for the past 20+ years. My legacy is to empower my students to soar to new heights!
